The rebrand needed to strike a careful balance, refreshing the brand to reflect their growth and future direction, while still feeling familiar to their existing community. It was important to better communicate their expertise in both renovations and new builds, while also positioning them as a high-end, quality-focused business that stands out in a competitive market.
Strategy
Through the research phase, I focused on understanding both the essence of Build Me Nelson and the region they operate in.
Drawing from the original logo, which featured a roof symbol, I evolved this element by integrating it with the surrounding mountain ranges of Nelson. This created a brand mark that feels both familiar and deeply connected to place.
The wider brand identity was inspired by Nelson’s natural landscape, with a colour palette reflecting the mountains, lakes, and the emerald tones of the Abel Tasman. These elements work together to create a cohesive and grounded visual language.
Result
The result is a refined and cohesive brand identity that honours the original brand while elevating it for future growth.
Build Me Nelson is now positioned as a high-end, trusted building company with a strong connection to its local community, supported by a brand that reflects both its craftsmanship and its sense of place.
